COOK WITH TOP CHEFS AND HELP WOMEN IN NEED

In May, Sydney not-for-profit, Table will partner with Sydney Seafood School and some of the country’s hottest chefs for two exclusive cooking classes to raise much-needed funds to deliver a new educational cooking program for people in need in Sydney.

Author and food personality Joanna Savill will host the first class with one of Sydney’s most talked about chefs, Danielle Alvarez of Fred’s and master of fine and casual dining, Mike McEnearney of No 1 Bent Street and Kitchen by Mike on Tuesday, 23 May from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.

The second class will be hosted with native cuisine expert Jock Zonfrillo of Adelaide’s Orana, and infamous hospitality prodigies Jemma Whiteman and Mike Eggert of Good Luck Pinbone, with host and food authority Jill Dupleix on Monday, 29 May from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.

The intimate, hands-on classes are limited to 60 people per class and each ticket sold will allow Table to sponsor one person to take part in the new six-week Kitchen Table Cooking School, which will be offered at 10 safe houses and drop-in centres in Sydney.

Table founder Rob Caslick said: “This is a special chance to enjoy an intimate, hands-on cooking class with some of Australia’s best chefs, while supporting vulnerable women in our own backyard to rebuild their sense of self-worth.

“The Kitchen Table Cooking School is about the many ways good food can do more than just feed our bodies and minds. It’s another way we can demonstrate love and worth to women in the safe houses, by providing them with an opportunity to learn something new, while growing their confidence.”

The Kitchen Table Cooking School is an extension of the successful cooking program Table has been running at the young parents’ crisis centre in Randwick since 2013.

Table is focused on bringing good food and good people together to make a difference, through a range of social outreach projects.

Tickets for the classes are $200 per person (including cooking class, dinner and wine) and are on sale from Tuesday, 28 March at 12pm, coinciding with the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to fund the program at https://startsomegood.com/kitchentable
