Five things in five minutes

Five things in five minutes
Thursday 10 December, 2015

Facebook is letting us all stream live video, Twitter is making photo viewing more of a pleasure and as 2016 rapidly approaches, the internet is bursting with 2015 summaries.

Twitter has announced a new ‘richer photo experience’ on its desktop site. All photos now appear un-cropped and when adding multiple photos there’s an option to have smaller thumbnails.

Not wanting to miss out on the live streaming party, Facebook has rolled out its (imaginatively named)  Facebook Live Video to all users (stateside for now). Function-wise it’s very similar to Periscope and Meerkat with the main difference being that the videos are posted to a user’s timeline with the option to delete or keep.

Tourism Victoria turned Melbourne into a playground by using Periscope for guided tours of the city, marking the last phase of the ‘Play Melbourne’ campaign.

Personalising your beverages is a touch clichéd these days so Coke is continuing its innovative packaging with festive bottles that wrap themselves up into a handy gift.

We’re not even halfway through December but the Internet has declared that 2015 is over and it’s time for a barrage of top 10 lists. First up – YouTube’s top 10 trending videos of the year and its own YouTube Rewind, Facebook’s Year in Review and Twitter’s #YearOnTwitter.
