In a case of editor versus algorithm, Facebook’s newly automated Trending Topics section was forced into review after a series of errors. Has Facebook discarded its human fact checkers too soon?

Australian banks are challenging Apple for private use of their NFC payment service, with Apple taking the matter all the way up to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). ACCC is expected to hand down a decision later this month.

Snapchat is rumoured to be moving towards more intuitive marketing with the introduction of behavioural targeting. The social platform says the new targeting will entice more marketers to the app.
