Facebook expands its repertoire of gestures and a kid called Daniel and his sartorial choices earn him a year's supply of sneakers.

Facebook’s little blue thumbs up seems like it’s been with us forever, and while there have long been calls to expand the repertoire of gestures, it’s only this week that the social media giant has unveiled five new reactions to express your feelings.

Virtual reality, or VR to its friends, is officially going to revolutionise the way we use social media. Well, according to Mark Zuckerberg and let’s face it, he probably knows. The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona became the centre of the VR universe and showed us the future.

What makes one idea capture people’s attention over any other? Obviously if we knew the answer we wouldn’t be sitting here right now, but this week’s internet obsession Damn, Daniel has us scratching our heads. Daniel and his mate even made it onto Ellen. Sometimes you just can’t pick it.
